Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi District Police and City Traffic Police are now in the process of making elaborate security and traffic plans for the Pak-BD cricket test match and practice at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Comprehensive Security Measures
CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani said that the routes used by the cricket teams for the Pak-BD cricket test match will be monitored with the help of CCTV cameras. In addition, snipers will be placed on the walkways and some rooftops around the stadium to increase the security of the event. To further strengthen security measures, Elite Force, Dolphin Force and Rawalpindi District Police personnel will be deployed not only inside the stadium premises but also outside the stadium. Apart from this, special patrolling teams will also be deployed in the nearby area to prevent any insecurity during the Pak-BD cricket test match.
Concerns and factors related to traffic management and convenience of citizens
Some general traffic management has been planned to ensure the free flow of traffic and minimize traffic disruption for people during the Pak-BD cricket test match. CPO Hamdani was also keen to point out that all subsequent security measures have been meticulously put in place to achieve what he termed ‘perfect security’.
Appointment and Duties
When contacted, the police spokesperson said that strict security arrangements have been made for the three-day practice session at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. About 1700 officers and personnel of Rawalpindi Police will be deployed, besides 350 traffic wardens and personnel will control the traffic effectively.

Approved Traffic Plan
A comprehensive ‘No Objection Traffic Plan’ has been informed to control/regulate traffic flow during the practice sessions and the Pak-BD cricket test match, the CTP spokesperson added. Approved by Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer Benish Fatima, the traffic plan will be implemented between August 18 and 25 with the aim of free flow of traffic in Rawalpindi and between Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
